We have all collectively been hoping that someone else would sit down and write a comprehensive trip report that did the whole thing justice, but no one ever did that and since I am having such trouble getting our trip report youtube videos up, here is a mini trip 2 report which doesn't do the whole trip justice but is better than continued silence on our part:
We donated 3 laptops and $12,000 worth of books and materials to the local school district, did a series of interviews on the residents of Morrito to get to know them, and did a survey of the wells in the pueblo in the hopes that we can some day address the water situation.
We also realized that building the library wouldn't be possible on the time scale that we were contemplating, besides the fact that we didn't raise enough money on the first round, but we are in the process of overcoming these challenges and we are committed to getting the library built.
We have decided to build a strategy around youtube and branding ourselves as college students who are grasping at solutions to these troubling problems, and we will again attempt to raise enough money to begin construction this summer.
In the process of getting to know the community, we came up with several plan B's including a laptop scholarship program and building secure, waterproof book cabinets for the schools in the area.
