Greetings
BRIDGE Supporters,
We have not raised our goal of $12,000 to begin library construction in Morrito, Nicaragua, so we will postpone this endeavor until we have raised the required funds. However, we are still traveling to Morrito in January to support the community the best we can. Following is a brief overview of our current progress, plans, and ways you can help.
Pledges and Donations:
First and foremost, ALL DONATIONS ARE NOW TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. We are now a project of the International Humanities Center which is a non profit organization that gives us this ability. You can donate electronically via our website or send a check to IHC with BRIDGE Nicaragua on the subject line. Their address can be found at www.ihccenter.org. Secondly, we are now taking pledges for the library, which allows you to pledge to donate more than $50 after the library is built. Laptop Drive: We are taking donations of used, new, and broken laptops for schoolchildren in Morrito to use. If we can fix or donate yours we will send you a photo of a child in Morrito using it.
Plans for January: We will be in Morrito for three weeks, dedicating our time to schoolhouse refurbishing and water and agriculture surveying. We will also be conducting a needs assessment survey regarding school house, medical clinic, and average living conditions. We will be collaborating with the local mayor and ministry of education, so they can use this data to Morrito's benefit. For any questions, comments, more details involving the our plans, or if you would like to pledge or donate a laptop, email
us at bridge.nica@gmail.com, or visit our website at www.bridgenicaragua.com
Thank You for your support,
BRIDGE Team
